About this opportunity

The U.S. Defense Health Agency (DHA) has a requirement to procure Intravenous Syringe Pumps (IVSPs) for use in hospitals, veterinary medicine, and advanced medical units. The IVSPs must be able to deliver IV fluids such as antibiotics and chemotherapeutic agents with high accuracy and consistency, providing flow rates from 0.1 to at least 99.9 mL/hr in 0.1 mL increments. The pumps must accommodate syringe sizes from 3 to 60 mL and maintain flow rate accuracy within 5% of the set rate. The solicitation is open to all interested parties, with a due date of June 28, 2024.

This opportunity is not set-aside for any specific business category. The solicitation does not mention any incumbent contractors or provide budget information. The pumps must be capable of priming and reverting to a keep-vein-open (KVO) rate once the programmed volume is delivered. The place of performance is not specified, but the pumps will be used in various medical settings, including hospitals, veterinary clinics, and forward-deployed military medical units.

Notice text

USAMMDA has a requirement to procure an Intravenous Syringe Pump (IVSP). The IVSP is a medical device used to administer a highly accurate and consistent volume for small amounts of intravenous (IV) fluids such as antibiotics, regional anesthetics, antiarrhythmic medications, and chemotherapeutic agents in hospitals (role of care 3), veterinary medicine, and medical units able to conduct advanced resuscitation procedures and lifesaving surgeries (role of care 2). IVSPs should be able to provide a flow of 0.1 to at least 99.9 mL/hr in 0.1 mL increments and maintain an accurate flow rate to within 5% of flow settings. Pumps should accommodate syringe sizes from 3 to 60 mL. Pumps that accept syringes smaller than 3 mL may be advantageous in some settings. The pump should be designed to revert to a KVO (keep vein open) rate between 1 and 5 mL/hr (but not greater than the programmed flow rate) once the programmed volume is delivered. Facilities should also look for pumps that have pump-based priming.
