The Special Notice seeks to provide a Crashworthy Fuel System kits for 18 legacy MD 530F aircraft operated by the Afghanistan Air Force. This is intended to increase survivability to ballistic impacts and post-crash fires. Interested contractors must submit proposals by July 2, 2020. It is anticipated this acquisition will be restricted to MD Helicopters, the original equipment manufacturer of the Airframe, given their expertise. The contractor would be required to provide the installation kits for 18 aircraft to the Multi-National Special Project Office on behalf of the Afghanistan Air Force.

The United States Army Contracting Command – Redstone Arsenal (ACC-RSA), Huntsville, Alabama on behalf of the Program Executive Office (PEO) - Aviation, Multi-National Special Project Office (MASPO) has a requirement for a Crashworthy Fuel System (CWFS) for the Afghanistan Air Force Armed MD 530F helicopter which will result in a higher degree of survivability to ballistic and post-crash fires. ACC-RSA issues the following synopsis to announce the US Army’s intent to negotiate, on a sole source basis in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1) and FAR 6.302-1. It is anticipated that this acquisition will be restricted to the MDHI (Cage Code 1KVX4), Mesa, AZ, the original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the Airfract. The contractor is required to provide CWFS installation kits for 18 legacy aircraft.
