About this opportunity
The Federal Bureau of Investigation Headquarters Division has issued a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Quantico Chiller Maintenance. This notice, posted on April 14, 2026, announces the FBI Laboratory Division's intent to procure continued maintenance and repair services for eight Vertiv Liebert in-row chiller units located in the Laboratory's unclassified server room in Quantico, Virginia. The procurement is justified as a sole-source acquisition under federal regulations due to the manufacturer-specific nature of the equipment and services required. This is not a request for proposals or quotations, and interested parties must submit clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government by the April 28, 2026 deadline. Responses should be directed to the Contracting Officer Jamie Compton and Treyton Miller at the FBI email addresses provided.
The FBI seeks to maintain critical cooling infrastructure for its server operations through semi-annual preventative maintenance, emergency repair support, and factory-certified replacement parts, with an estimated contract value of $30,855.60 covering performance through April 11, 2027. Only Vertiv-authorized and factory-trained technicians may perform the required maintenance due to the proprietary nature of the equipment, making AllCom Global the identified authorized service provider for the National Capital Region. The Government requires responses by 11:00 AM ET on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and will not compensate parties for information submitted. Interested parties must demonstrate through documented evidence why competitive procurement would be beneficial, as the determination to compete or proceed with sole sourcing remains entirely at the Government's discretion. The FBI conducted market research but found no viable alternative sources and does not currently plan competitive procurement for future acquisitions of these services.
