About this opportunity
The 355th Contracting Squadron, Department of Defense, has issued a sole source procurement intent notice for Motorola APX 8000 Land Mobile Radios and supporting equipment. This acquisition involves 30 units each of various radio components including APX 8000 All Band Portable Models, batteries, chargers, and related communication accessories such as encryption and authentication systems. The procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside and will be executed through AEG Group Inc, the authorized reseller under an existing Enterprise level Land Mobile Radio Blanket Purchase Agreement. The notice indicates that funding has not yet been secured for this requirement, making contract award contingent upon receiving appropriate funding authorization.
The sole source justification is based on the need for compatibility with the Air Force's existing Motorola Land Mobile Radio trunked communication system, which serves as an integral component of the service's enterprise-wide architecture. Interested parties who wish to challenge this sole source determination must submit an interest letter demonstrating their capability to fulfill the requirement and provide rationale for consideration by September 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. Responses must be directed to Contracting Specialist Jonathan Turk via email or phone. The procurement leverages the AFICC LMR-SE BPA Program, which the Air Force has identified as its preferred contracting method for acquiring pre-vetted products that meet DoD Land Mobile Radio requirements while ensuring operational continuity and standardization across the Department of Defense.
