About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Division of Acquisition Policy (DAP) has published a Special Notice regarding its intent to award a sole source contract to Reach Out and Read, Inc. (ROR) for the provision of an early child literacy program targeting over 550,000 American Indian and Alaska Native children at federal and tribal hospitals/clinics, including urban Indian programs in 41 metropolitan centers.
The purpose of this sole source contract is to continue ROR's long-standing implementation of the IHS Child Literacy Program, given their expertise, resources, and evidence-based clinic-based model. The anticipated 12-month firm fixed-price contract will be awarded under the authority of Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items. Interested parties must provide written responses by August 25, 2024 demonstrating their ability to meet the government's requirements in order to potentially compete for this opportunity. The government has determined that ROR is the only vendor capable of providing the required services without disruption to the currently integrated program across 220 active sites.
