About this opportunity

The 48th Rescue Squadron within the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command has issued a Special Notice indicating its intent to sole source the procurement of ComTac VI Headsets and related accessories to Atlantic Signal, LLC. This notice was posted on January 16, 2026, and represents a non-solicitation announcement, meaning quotes are not being accepted at this time. The procurement is being pursued as a sole-source acquisition due to Atlantic Signal's proprietary technology and status as the exclusive distributor of the ComTac VI headset model. The contracting review determined that no viable alternative manufacturers exist that could meet the specified requirements. The 355th Contracting Squadron is managing this procurement on behalf of the Air Force.

The objective of this procurement is to acquire 35 units of ComTac VI Headsets equipped with advanced communication capabilities, including built-in wireless intercom, adaptive environmental auditory settings, and adjustable noise-canceling microphones, along with supporting accessories and connectors. The equipment will support Air Force personnel including Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) operators, Guardian Angel operators, and Pararescue Personnel. The Special Notice due date is January 21, 2026, although this represents the comment period for the sole-source justification rather than a solicitation deadline. Only Atlantic Signal, LLC is eligible to respond to this procurement, as it is a sole-source award. The procurement includes multiple contract line items (CLINs) covering the headsets in Coyote color, ARIES Dual Comm Push to Talk Assembly components, radio connectors, cables compatible with various radio systems, and shipping, with an estimated total contract value supporting the BARS program.
