About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Special Notice indicating its intent to award a sole source 5-year blanket purchase agreement to L&J Analytical to investigate methods for the field measurement of respirable silicon dioxide, specifically the mineral polymorph known as alpha quartz or silica.
The purpose of this contract is to develop an end-of-shift (EoS) method for measuring airborne silica in the workplace. The CDC is soliciting this requirement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their capability to respond, but this is not a request for competitive quotes. Responses must be submitted within 3 days of the notice issuance. The CDC has determined that L&J Analytical is the only reasonably available source to provide the required analysis services due to the need for continuity and compatibility with the prior analysis of over 400 samples by the same laboratory.
