About this opportunity
Paragraph 1:
NASA's Kennedy Space Center has a requirement for an Integrated High-Vacuum Atomic Force Microscopy System with a thermal control stage. The system is intended to measure the adhesion forces of individual dust particles in a simulated lunar environment. NASA intends to issue a sole source contract to acquire the system from Park Systems under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, as they are the only vendor identified as capable of meeting the Government's requirements. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications electronically by August 22, 2024, which will be evaluated to determine if the acquisition should be conducted on a competitive basis.
Paragraph 2:
This requirement is set aside for small businesses. NASA has not identified any potential incumbents or current contractors. The Government intends to acquire the system as a commercial item using FAR Part 12. No specific award value or budget range has been provided in the pre-solicitation notice.
