About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center awarded contract W912HZ25P0068 to Illinois Tool Works Inc for $139,277.00 on July 14, 2025, for the procurement of an Instron SR20 Capillary Rheometer. The specialized laboratory equipment features a piston-die type configuration compliant with ISO 11443 and ASTM D3835 standards, capable of operating at temperatures from room temperature to 450°C with pressure readings up to 200 MPa and force capability up to 20 kN. The rheometer includes interchangeable die sets with length-to-diameter ratios of 5, 20, and 30 mm, screw speeds up to 1200 mm/min, and a PVT system for pressure-volume-temperature analysis of polymers. The contract includes comprehensive software for conducting various polymer testing experiments, along with required installation and in-person training services.
