About this opportunity
The US Embassy in Quito, Ecuador is seeking installation services for fourteen residential generators and forty Automatic Transfer Switches (ATSs) at residences located in Quito. The Department of State requires contractors to provide all professional services, labor, materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to complete the electrical installation work. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to proposal submission, and failure to register will result in proposals being deemed non-responsive. The government intends to award a firm fixed price contract to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror who demonstrates responsibility as a contractor. The due date is currently listed as August 14, 2025, though the notice indicates this is not a firm date and contractors should reference the actual Request for Proposal when issued. A pre-proposal conference is planned, with details to be provided in the forthcoming solicitation.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all responsible sources. The anticipated performance period is less than sixty calendar days, during which the contractor must coordinate with the Contracting Officer Representative for work phasing and job sequencing since the residences will remain occupied during installation. The contractor must submit a phasing plan for review and approval before commencing work, ensuring installations proceed in a sequential manner across the fourteen generator and forty ATS installations. The government may award the contract based on initial offers without further discussions, streamlining the procurement process. No incumbent contractors or specific budget ranges are mentioned in this pre-solicitation notice, though the work falls under NAICS code 238210 for Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors.
