About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Facilities Engineering Command is conducting a sources sought notice to identify commercially available fire alarm radio transmitters with specifications equivalent to the AES Corporation 7788F/7744F Series Subscribers for installation at Naval Station Norfolk and Craney Island. This market research effort seeks vendors capable of providing fire alarm radio transmitter systems that match the technical specifications of the AES IntelliNet smart mesh radio networks, which are self-forming, self-healing wireless communication systems designed for commercial fire alarm applications. Interested vendors must submit a capabilities statement package not exceeding five pages that demonstrates their ability to provide equivalent products meeting the detailed technical requirements. The evaluation will focus on vendors' ability to provide fire alarm transmitter systems with specifications matching the reference AES model, including smart subscriber transceivers that create redundant communication networks. Responses are due no later than Monday, July 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time, and must be submitted electronically to Thomas Southern with attachments limited to 4MB.
This opportunity is designated as a Competitive 8(a) set-aside, targeting SBA certified 8(a) firms along with other small business categories including HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Businesses. The AES Corporation appears to be the current reference standard with their 7788F/7744F Series Fire Subscribers serving as the benchmark for equivalent specifications that potential vendors must match. The government has not disclosed specific award values or budget ranges for this procurement, as this sources sought notice is strictly a market research tool to assess vendor capabilities before determining the acquisition method. The project involves fire alarm equipment installation at two naval facilities, though specific quantities of transmitter units or installation timelines have not been specified in the current market research phase. The government emphasizes that no compensation will be provided for information submitted during this sources sought process, and responses will be used solely to inform future procurement strategy decisions.
