About this opportunity
The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility Contracting Office announced its intent to award a sole-source, firm fixed-price service contract to Huntington Ingalls Industries for six critical reactor plant inner assemblies, with capability statements due by June 10, 2026 at 1:00 PM Pacific Time. The award is contingent upon a Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition under FAR 6.302-1 and is expected to be completed in June 2026.
HII is the original equipment manufacturer and sole owner of the proprietary drawing 302-4363863 (Rev AA) and the only qualified source capable of performing the mandatory NAVSEA MIL-S-901C Grade A Hi-Shock testing required for these components. Qualifying an alternate vendor would result in substantial duplication of costs and unacceptable schedule delays to the fleet. The contract will be awarded under FAR 12 as a firm-fixed-price arrangement.
Although all responsible sources may submit capability statements, no competitive quotes or solicitation will be issued. Interested parties must furnish information by email only; this notice is not a request for quotes, and the government retains sole discretion to decline competition based on responses received.
