Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM)

& Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS)

Background

The FAA’s Decision Support Programs office will host an Industry Outreach event for the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) and Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS) programs on Thursday, October 2nd, 2014. Industry is invited to hear updates on the programs and ask questions.

The TFDM office will brief on scope, goals and schedule approved by the FAA’s Joint Resources Council in August, 2014. The TFDM Program Office will also explain how vendor comments from the last Industry Forum in April 2014, influenced the acquisition approach and strategy.

TFDM is a NextGen program and as demand for our nation's airspace grows, smarter NextGen technologies are making air travel more efficient, safer, and environmentally friendly. TFDM will help save time and fuel, reduce emissions, and improve the experience for the flying public. The system will work by integrating digital flight plans with surface surveillance data to create accurate, real-time predictive tools for the terminal environment.

The TFMS office will provide a summary of future planned deployments and acquisitions.

Industry Outreach briefings and the Q&A session will be posted on FAACO after the event.
