About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District has issued a Special Notice for an Industry Day event regarding the Port Everglades Deepening project. The event will be held on July 23-24, 2024 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is focused on obtaining feedback from the dredging industry and supporting environmental contractors on the environmental updates and coral nursery needs for the upcoming dredging project.

The purpose of the event is for the government to gather information on topics such as artificial reef and boulder reef creation, coral nursery capabilities, relocation of corals/sponges/octocorals, and outplanting of benthic organisms. The government is seeking detailed responses to specific questions across these areas to inform the project's environmental mitigation planning. Interested firms must register by July 16, 2024 to request a one-hour breakout session, with a limit of 5 representatives per firm. The government is not seeking written responses prior to the event, but rather requests firms come prepared to discuss their relevant expertise during the breakout sessions.
