About this opportunity

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District, in partnership with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), is seeking a general construction contractor for a new Currency Production Facility (CPF) in Beltsville, Maryland. The project involves developing an approximately 100-acre site and constructing an 850,000 to 1,000,000 square foot facility to meet BEP's storage and production requirements. An Industry Day briefing is scheduled for February 24, 2025, via Microsoft Teams, where potential contractors will receive a high-level overview of the project mission, status, and planned acquisition strategy. Interested contractors must RSVP by February 20, 2025, at 3:00 pm ET to Leigha Arnold and the USACE contracting email. Following the Industry Day, one-on-one interviews with general construction contractors will be conducted the week of March 3, 2025, with pre-registration required.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity. The project falls under the NAICS category 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, with a Product Service Code (PSC) of Y1EC for Construction of Production Buildings. While specific award values are not disclosed, the substantial square footage and complexity of the facility suggest a significant budget and potential for a long-term, high-value contract. Contractors interested in participating must be general construction firms capable of managing a large-scale government facility construction project. The procurement process includes an initial Industry Day briefing, followed by one-on-one interviews, indicating a comprehensive and competitive selection method for identifying the most qualified contractor for this critical infrastructure project.
