About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command, through Joint Base Charleston, is soliciting one new Industrial Can Densifier equipped with an automatic ejection system to support the 437th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (437 AMXS). The equipment must process empty tin-plated steel cans measuring approximately 4 inches by 5.5 inches at a minimum capacity of 800 cans per hour, be compatible with standard U.S. industrial power (208-240V or 440-480V, 3-Phase, 60 Hz), and include a feed hopper with minimum 8 cubic feet volume and integrated liquid containment system. Key contract requirements include a maximum operational dimension of 90" L x 40" W x 60" H, a minimum 6-month manufacturer's warranty on all parts and labor from delivery, and the contractor's responsibility for delivery, offload, assembly, and initial operator training to Building 74 at 300 North Graves, Charleston AFB. The Government will evaluate proposals based primarily on technical acceptability and compliance with all specifications outlined in Attachment 1, with technical factors rated as significantly more important than price; the Government reserves the right to award to a higher-priced offeror if technical superiority justifies the additional cost. The solicitation was posted on April 22, 2026, with offers due by April 28, 2026 at 12:00 PM local time, requiring offerors to submit technical literature and documentation proving full compliance with all mandatory specifications and the 14-week delivery timeline.

This is a 100% small business set-aside with women-owned small business (WOSB) preference, and no incumbent contractor is identified in the solicitation documents. The contract will be awarded on a Firm Fixed Price basis, inclusive of all transportation charges from the supplier's facility to the delivery destination, with specific pricing not disclosed in the solicitation notice. The procuring activity requires delivery within 14 weeks After Receipt of Order (ARO) to Cainhoy, SC 29492, with final installation to be completed by the 628th Civil Engineer Squadron. The NAICS code is 333248 (All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing) with a size standard of 750 employees, and the PSC code is 4250 (Recycling and Reclamation Equipment). Payment will be made via Wide Area WorkFlow (WAWF) electronic invoicing, with inspection and acceptance occurring at both the destination and during delivery.
