About this opportunity

The Bureau of Reclamation's Security Office in Denver, Colorado is seeking to establish a multi-year, multi-award Basic Purchase Agreement (BPA) for American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter services with a specific focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The pre-solicitation notice indicates the agency will be procuring professional interpretation services classified under NAICS code 541930 for Translation and Interpretation Services. This opportunity is intended to secure interpreter services for both in-person and remote requirements, with individual orders not exceeding the micro-purchase threshold. The pre-solicitation notice is currently in a market research and planning phase, with the actual solicitation expected to be posted in February 2025. Interested parties are advised to continue monitoring the Beta Sam Opportunities website for future updates, though no quotes are being accepted at this time.

The contract opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside, with the Bureau of Reclamation planning to award a Firm Fixed Price/Labor hour BPA. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the contract will be structured to provide flexible interpretation services across STEM-related contexts. The procurement is specifically targeted at small businesses capable of providing high-quality ASL interpretation services. No incumbent contractors are mentioned in the notice, and potential respondents are explicitly informed that the government will not reimburse any costs associated with preparing responses. The current timeline indicates a due date of February 14, 2025, with the solicitation expected to be posted in February 2025, suggesting a relatively near-term procurement process for qualified small business interpreters.
