About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy's Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) has issued a Special Notice seeking contractors to evaluate, repair, and/or modify a specific Course Indicator with National Stock Number (NSN) 7HH 6605-01-445-8221. The notice is specifically targeting the procurement of an item for which the government currently lacks the necessary data to perform repairs or manufacturing independently. NAVSUP-WSS intends to solicit and negotiate with a limited number of sources under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1. Three specific contractors have been pre-identified as potential sources: Air Marine Systems Inc., L3 Technologies, Inc., and Ruta Supplies Inc. While the acquisition is technically subject to Free Trade Agreements, these terms are not expected to apply due to the limited source nature of the procurement.
Contractors interested in this opportunity must submit capability statements within 15 days of the notice's publication to be considered by the government. Potential new sources must complete a comprehensive Source Approval Request package, which can be obtained from the NAVSUP-WSS website, though the award will not be delayed pending source approval. The government will make a determination about competitive sourcing based on the responses received, with full discretion remaining with the contracting authority. Interested contractors must contact Benjamin Speros, the Contracting Officer, at benjamin.g.speros.civ@us.navy.mil for additional information or to express interest. The contracting office is located at NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support in Mechanicsburg, PA, and will be responsible for evaluating and processing potential contractor submissions. All responsible sources are invited to identify their interest and provide capability statements, though this notice is not a formal request for competitive proposals.
