About this opportunity
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Marshall Space Flight Center (NASA/MSFC) is seeking to procure 20 Information Technology software and rackmount system packages, specifically including NightStar Tools and iHawk rackmount systems with their respective yearly maintenance subscriptions. These commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) systems are critical for Orion testing between MSFC and Lockheed Martin, with NightStar software providing real-time troubleshooting capabilities for system overruns and interrupt conflicts in IATF labs. The agency intends to issue a sole source contract to the original manufacturer, Concurrent Real-Time Inc., under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3205(a) and using Federal Acquisition Regulation simplified procedures for commercial items. Interested organizations must submit their capabilities and qualifications electronically to specified NASA email contacts by 5:00 p.m. CST on May 23, 2025. The evaluation will solely determine whether the acquisition will be conducted on a competitive basis, with the final determination remaining at the government's discretion.
This pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for the contract. The procurement involves RedHawk Linux software maintenance and hardware "return-to-factory" service, with hardware units including specific part numbers HR000-1R40N-4AZ10 for iHawk systems and WU1200-LDVF and WU1221-LDV for NightStar Tools. Concurrent Real-Time Inc. is identified as the exclusive original manufacturer and sole distributor, with no authorized resale dealers or distributors permitted. While specific award values are not detailed, the contract encompasses annual maintenance and 20 system packages supporting NASA's testing infrastructure. The solicitation emphasizes that this is an informational notice and does not constitute a commitment by the government, and potential offerors are responsible for monitoring the NASA procurement website for future solicitation details and amendments.
