About this opportunity
The Idaho National Laboratory published this Special Notice on behalf of the Department of Energy to seek potential partners for its Microreactor Applications Research Validation and Evaluation project. The MARVEL project aims to test microreactor technologies and understand their integration with microgrids and process heat applications at INL's facilities.
The Notice seeks to partner organizations to leverage the MARVEL project for microreactor research and development efforts as well as early testing opportunities. Interested parties have until February 15, 2024 to indicate their interest. The MARVEL project does not intend to consider any research proposals that would alter its safety basis. Example areas of collaboration include power generation and grid integration, energy storage and management, industrial process heat applications, and microreactor development and operations. Partners would benefit from helping shape MARVEL's capabilities, utilizing its infrastructure for realistic microgrid and nuclear testing, and collaborating with other users and industry participants.
