About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking to procure 20 rolls of nickel sheet foil for the ICBM Minuteman III weapon system, specifically for use in manufacturing shielding components. The solicitation, numbered FA8206-25-Q-0070, requires nickel sheet rolls that are 0.001 inches thick, with a length of 20 feet and a width between 18-24.5 inches. Potential contractors must conform to drawing 200828091 and pass mandatory emissivity testing, with detailed specifications available to registered Joint Certification Program (JCP) participants. The evaluation will be primarily based on price factors, with quotations due by February 14, 2025 and an estimated contract award date in February 2025. Contractors must adhere to rigorous engineering and packaging requirements, including compliance with military packaging standards MIL-STD-2073-1 and MIL-STD-129.
This procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 336419, with a size standard of 1,050 employees. The purchase order will be awarded as a firm-fixed-price contract with FOB Origin terms and a DO-A2 priority rating. Delivery of the nickel sheet rolls is required at Hill Air Force Base in Utah by April 24, 2025, with specific packaging requirements including heat-treatment of wooden packaging materials and compliance with international shipping standards. While no incumbent contractors are identified in the documentation, the contract is part of the ongoing spare parts procurement for the Minuteman III weapon system. The total quantity of 20 rolls suggests a relatively modest procurement aimed at maintaining critical weapon system components, with a focused performance location at Hill AFB, Utah.
