About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District is conducting market research to identify potential sources for one submersible electric pump rated for 20 cubic feet per second at 13.03' Total Dynamic Head, complete with a 50HP, 720RPM submersible electric motor and 25.0' electric cable. This pump will serve as a backup for the S-703 pump station located at the intersection of C-102 and L-31E Canal to support water pumping operations into wetlands for the South Florida Water Management District. The contractor must provide full-size factory testing and deliver the pump to the SFWMD Homestead Field Station in Homestead, Florida, along with a 5-year warranty from the manufacturer. The government will evaluate all responses to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy and ensure adequate competition among responsible contractors, with particular interest in capabilities and qualifications from the small business community. Responses to this sources sought notice are due by October 21, 2025, and submission of information is purely voluntary with no financial responsibility assumed by the government.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations, though the government specifically seeks to assess interest and capabilities from small business concerns including Section 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Women-Owned, and HUBZone companies. The contract requires delivery of one submersible pump unit within sixty days of award, which differs from the 320-day timeframe mentioned in the technical description document for manufacturing and testing. The procurement falls under NAICS code 333996 for Hydraulic Pump, fluid power Manufacturing, indicating the specialized nature of the equipment required. No incumbent contractors or budget ranges are identified in this market research phase, as this represents an early stage sources sought notice rather than a formal solicitation. The pump specifications match those used on BBCW CNT 5B, suggesting standardization with existing equipment in the water management system.
