The Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service seeks repair of an emergency generator at its U.S. Vegetable Laboratory in Charleston, South Carolina, with quotations due June 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM Central Time. Amendment 1, posted June 16, 2026, must be acknowledged in the proposal and shifts the procurement from a total small business set-aside to HUBZone small business evaluation criteria via the addition of FAR 52.219-4 and removal of FAR 52.219-6.

The work requires comprehensive diagnosis and full repair of a Caterpillar Model 3412 generator (serial 81Z25321, 596 operating hours) at Buildings 44/45 to prevent loss of critical research material during power outages. Award will be made on a firm fixed-price basis to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offeror. Evaluation criteria are price, technical acceptability (acceptable/unacceptable), and past performance (acceptable/neutral/unacceptable). Quotations must remain firm for 90 calendar days. The contract will incorporate FAR 52.212-4 terms for commercial products and services, along with AGAR clauses covering anti-discrimination, DEI compliance, and closeout procedures. Service Contract Act prevailing wage rates apply for South Carolina counties including Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester. Payment will be made by electronic funds transfer through SAM. Amendment 1 is posted on June 16, 2026.  Amendment must be acknowledged in the proposal. 

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.  Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. 

Solicitation number 1232SA26Q0762 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for  repair of the Emergency Generator to avoid loss of critical research material in the event of a power outage.   

This acquisition is not set-aside for small business concerns.  The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 811310  The small business size standard is $12.5 million.  This acquisition is Full and Open.  All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
