About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps, specifically the Regional Contracting Office at Parris Island, is conducting market research to identify potential vendors capable of providing portable toilets (Port-A-Johns) in support of hurricane evacuation efforts at Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia. The current source-sought synopsis is seeking small businesses that can supply and service up to 162 portable toilets during the 2025 hurricane season from June 1 through November 30. Interested vendors must provide a contractor capabilities statement, electronic business card, CAGE code, and DUNS number, and confirm their registration in the System for Award Management. The government is evaluating potential contractors based on their ability to meet technical requirements, including daily cleaning of toilets, gray/black water removal, and alignment with the specific operational needs of recruit evacuation. Responses to this synopsis are due by May 21, 2025, and the contracting office emphasizes that this is a market research effort and does not constitute a formal solicitation or guarantee of contract award.
The procurement does not have a specific small business set-aside, though small businesses are encouraged to respond. The estimated scope includes servicing 6,500 recruits with portable toilets, with the contract structured as a firm-fixed price arrangement where the contractor will be responsible for all operational costs including taxes, insurance, and labor. The performance period is tentative and directly linked to hurricane season dates, with the government reserving the right to terminate the contract early and pay only for services actually rendered. While no specific award value is mentioned, the complexity of providing 162 portable toilets with daily servicing suggests a potentially significant contract value. The contract will be executed under NAICS code 562991 for Septic Tank and Related Services, and the government maintains the flexibility to issue multiple contracts to meet the requirement. Vendors with existing GSA/FSS contracts are particularly encouraged to respond and provide their contract numbers.
