About this opportunity

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has published a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source Purchase Order to Holiday Inn Express-Stafford for 40 hotel rooms to accommodate SLT #431 students. The notice was posted on January 30, 2026, and is being conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Despite the sole source designation, the DEA is inviting vendors who believe they can meet the government's requirements to submit capability statements for consideration. The Holiday Inn Express was selected based on its proximity to the DEA Training Academy—6.3 miles away—and its accessibility advantages relative to base entry restrictions. The acquisition will result in a firm-fixed price purchase order for hotel lodging services.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to solicit alternative proposals from qualified hotel vendors who can accommodate the specific needs of the DEA training event scheduled for March 22-28, 2026. Interested vendors must submit capability statements by February 14, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Time to Lori.A.Love@dea.gov. To be eligible, vendors must be listed on the List of Approved Hotels and Motels for Federal Travelers and be classified under NAICS Code 721110 (Hotels except Casino Hotels and Motels), with a business size standard of $40,000,000. The government reserves the right to determine whether to open the requirement to competition based on received responses, meaning the sole source award to Holiday Inn Express may proceed regardless of competing submissions. This procurement highlights the DEA's commitment to rotating future hotel procurements among various local vendors to promote competition in travel lodging services.
