About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Contracting, has issued a Special Notice seeking market research for hotel room refrigerators and combination fridge/microwaves at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. The notice specifically requests 347 individual refrigerators and 13 combination fridge/microwave units that comply with the Buy-American Act (BAA). The government has been unable to locate BAA-compliant appliances matching their precise specifications and is seeking alternative suppliers. The refrigerators and combination units have specific technical requirements, including dimensions, features like temperature control, manual defrost, and ADA compliance. The notice relates to the Small Electrical Appliance Manufacturing category and Kitchen Equipment and Appliances product service code.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to conduct a market survey to identify potential alternate sources for these specialized appliances. Contractors interested in responding must submit detailed information by January 8, 2025, directly to eric.j.hurtado@usace.army.mil. Respondents are required to provide the manufacturer's name, unique entity identifier, comprehensive product data, and a written statement demonstrating their product's compatibility with specified requirements. Supporting documentation should include a list of similar project references with specific location details and contact information. The government emphasizes that this is an information-gathering exercise and not a formal solicitation, and any determination to grant BAA requirement exceptions will be solely at the government's discretion. No compensation will be provided for submitted materials, and only emailed responses will be accepted. The ultimate goal is to understand the market landscape for potential alternative appliance suppliers that can meet the government's stringent technical specifications.
