About this opportunity

The Department of the Treasury Departmental Offices has published a Special Notice regarding an upcoming Request for Information (RFI) for a Hosted Payment Processing System. This advance notice represents the Treasury's market research initiative conducted under FAR Part 10 to inform acquisition planning for a secure, hosted payment processing solution that will support federal operations. The RFI is anticipated to be released on or before March 31, 2026, with the special notice posted on March 11, 2026. The opportunity falls under the NAICS category for Other Computer Related Services (541519) and is classified as IT and Telecom Business Application/Application Development Software as a Service (PSC: DA10). This is an informational notice only, and no responses are currently required from interested vendors.

The Treasury seeks to understand industry capabilities and obtain feedback on a payment processing system that will include secure embedded checkout functionality, server-side payment workflows, refund processing, payment method vaulting, reconciliation and reporting features, and administrative dashboard access, all while meeting federal security, accessibility (Section 508), and operational compliance requirements. When the RFI is released, interested vendors will be invited to submit capability statements describing relevant experience, identify recommended approaches to meeting stated outcomes, provide feedback on feasibility and performance targets, comment on draft evaluation criteria, and identify potential risks or alternative solutions. The government may also request rough order-of-magnitude pricing information and discount methodologies, as well as details regarding trial licenses for sandbox environment testing. There are no formal eligibility restrictions noted in this notice, though vendors should be prepared to demonstrate experience with secure payment processing systems and federal compliance requirements. All updates and the formal RFI will be posted on SAM.gov, and interested parties are responsible for monitoring that platform for subsequent solicitation details.
