About this opportunity
NASA/NSSC announced a sole-source procurement on August 12, 2026, for a high vacuum gantry for VOiD deposition system, with intent to award to NEWMARK SYSTEMS INC under FAR 12.102(a), with capability statement deadline August 14, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. The Government will acquire the system as a commercial item using FAR Part 12 procedures. Performance will occur at NASA Glenn Research Center.
The gantry system comprises three linear stages (X, Y, and Z axes) driven by vacuum-compatible stepper motors and lead screws with encoder feedback. The X and Y stages must deliver at least 24 inches of travel in assembled length not exceeding 32 inches, with positioning resolution of at least 6E-4 inches, individual weight not exceeding 15 pounds, and 50-pound load rating. The Z stage must provide at least 12 inches of travel in assembled length not exceeding 20 inches, with positioning resolution of at least 4E-6 inches, weight not exceeding 7 pounds, and 50-pound load rating. All components must function continuously in ultra-high vacuum (less than 10E-7 Torr) using low outgassing materials, vacuum-compatible bearings greased with Braycote 601EF or equivalent HV/UHV lubricant, and vacuum-compatible wire insulation such as PTFE or Kapton.
Interested organizations may submit written capability statements and qualifications only to determine whether the Government should conduct full and open competition. Quotes and oral communications are not acceptable. Submissions go to Laura Quave, Procurement Specialist II, laura.a.quave@nasa.gov. NAICS 541330; PSC AJ11.
