About this opportunity
The Indian Health Service (IHS), a component of the Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking HVAC services for the Colorado River Service Unit (CRSU) located in Parker, Arizona. The solicitation focuses on maintaining two air-cooled screw chillers that are critical to the facility's HVAC system, which serves as a vital infrastructure component for patient and staff safety in an environment with summer temperatures exceeding 110°F. The contract requires a comprehensive maintenance approach for the closed-loop piping system connected to the facility's re-heat HVAC infrastructure. Contractors must submit a Standard Form 1449 along with three additional attachments as part of their proposal. The solicitation was posted on May 9, 2025, with proposals due by May 16, 2025, indicating a relatively tight submission window for interested vendors.
This contract opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, meaning only small businesses can compete for the award. The procurement falls under NAICS Category 561210 for Facilities Support Services and PSC Category J045 for maintenance and repair of heating equipment. The place of performance is specifically located in Parker, Arizona, within the facility's maintenance yard. While specific award value details are not disclosed in the solicitation, the critical nature of the HVAC system suggests this is an essential service contract for maintaining operational capabilities at the health service facility. The chillers' design with two compressors and staged cooling capabilities indicates a complex technical requirement that will likely require specialized HVAC expertise to manage effectively.

Colorado River Service Unit (CRSU) has two air cooled screw chillers located in the maintenance yard west of the facility. This is connected to the facilities re-heat via closed loop piping to the HVAC system and is essential for building operation. The two chillers both have staged cooling and are designed with two compressors. The facility is located within a climate that in the summer months experiences temps over 110 F. Due to this extreme heat the HVAC system is required from both patients and staffs safety.
