About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has issued a Special Notice announcing their intent to award a sole source purchase order to Jered LLC for Hangar Door Seals required by the Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic (FRCMA) Voyage Repair Team. The procurement is specifically for overhauling hangar door seals for helicopter operations at Naval Station Mayport in Florida. Jered LLC is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) with proprietary rights to these specialized components, which are not available through the Federal Supply System. The Special Notice is being published under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), which allows for sole source procurement when only one source is reasonably available. The notice emphasizes that this is not a competitive solicitation, but offers an opportunity for other sources to submit capability statements.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to procure critical hangar door seal parts for the USS Mason (DDG-87), with specific components including sealing plate assemblies, water seal panels, gaskets, and seal kits. Contractors interested in being considered must submit a capability statement within five calendar days of the notice's publication, though the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to proceed competitively. Eligibility is open to all responsible sources, but the government has already identified Jered LLC as the preferred vendor due to their exclusive manufacturing rights. The procurement involves delivering the specified parts to FRCMA VRT at 370 Patrol Road, Mayport, FL, with a required performance period of 38 weeks after contract award. Contractors must provide a certificate of conformance for all parts, and final acceptance will be accomplished through Material Receipt Inspection by the Quality Assurance Representative. The point of contact for this opportunity is Brandon Fabricante, who can be reached via email for any follow-up inquiries.
