About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 is seeking a contractor to provide medical gas systems inspection and preventive maintenance services for the VA New Jersey Healthcare System. The contractor must supply all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for a comprehensive preventive maintenance program that includes annual inspection and testing of medical gas equipment in accordance with NFPA 99 and VA specifications. Notably, the scope excludes maintenance of dental and medical air compressors and dental vacuum pumps. The government will use a comparative evaluation method to determine the best overall value, reserving the right to select quotations that provide benefits exceeding minimum requirements rather than automatically awarding to the lowest price. The Request for Quote is planned for release on December 8, 2025, with quotations due by December 17, 2025, providing prospective offerors with a brief window to prepare and submit their proposals.
This procurement is a Total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside, meaning only businesses meeting this criteria are eligible to compete. The contract is structured as a Firm-Fixed Price award with a base performance period from February 1, 2026, through January 31, 2027, followed by four additional option years, providing potential long-term engagement for the successful contractor. The solicitation will be issued under NAICS Code 541350 (Building Inspection Services) and PSC Code H165 (Quality Control—Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies), and all potential offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) to participate. While no specific award value or estimated contract amount is provided in the pre-solicitation notice, the services will be performed at the VA New Jersey Healthcare System's East Orange and Lyons campuses. The procurement will utilize an electronic submission format only.
