About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior National Park Service Intermountain Region is seeking industry sources for hazardous materials and universal waste collection, transportation, and disposal services to support Grand Canyon National Park operations in Arizona. The procurement encompasses compliant handling and disposal of waste oils, solvents, paints, aerosols, batteries, fluorescent lamps, mercury-containing devices, and electronic waste. This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued as a pre-solicitation notice to identify capable contractors prior to formal solicitation. The RFI was posted on April 7, 2026, with responses due by April 13, 2026, providing a six-day window for industry submissions. While the notice does not specify detailed evaluation criteria at this stage, contractors should anticipate that proposals will be assessed on technical capability, compliance expertise, experience with hazardous waste management, and service quality for government installations. Interested parties should review the attached Sources Sought notice for comprehensive requirements and submission guidelines.
This procurement is not designated as a set-aside for any specific business category, meaning it is open to all qualified contractors meeting the technical and operational requirements. The pre-solicitation notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide specific award values or budget ranges at this stage. No timeline for contract performance or service quantity metrics are specified in the pre-solicitation materials. As a blanket purchase agreement, the contract structure will likely allow for indefinite quantities of hazardous waste services on an as-needed basis throughout the agreement period, with pricing to be established during formal solicitation. Contractors operating in the hazardous waste collection industry, classified under NAICS 562112, and those capable of meeting federal environmental remediation standards (PSC F108) should monitor for the formal solicitation announcement expected to follow this RFI period.
