About this opportunity

NASA's Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center Aeroscience and Flight Mechanics Division is seeking contractor support for comprehensive Guidance Navigation & Control (GN&C) systems, integrated avionics systems, and autonomous flight operations through the GN&C IV Follow-On procurement. The work encompasses engineering design, development, integration, test, analysis, verification and validation, certification, and spaceflight support activities supporting critical NASA programs including the International Space Station and Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle Orion program. Interested contractors must submit capabilities statements identifying their core competencies related to the statement of work along with at least one past performance reference demonstrating successful completion of similar work within the last five years. The evaluation criteria requires relevant corporate examples of performing similar work at comparable complexity on contracts valued greater than $30 million. The response deadline for capabilities statements is August 26, 2025, and submissions must include contract number, general scope description, contract value, and period of performance.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designation and is currently being performed by The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc. of Cambridge, Massachusetts as the incumbent contractor. NASA has expressed particular interest in hearing from qualified small businesses of any socioeconomic category, though the agency intends to award the procurement on a sole-source basis to Draper if no other qualified sources are identified through this market research effort. The contract structure is an Indefinite Quantity/Indefinite Delivery arrangement supporting multiple mission phases including orbit, entry, navigation, and abort scenarios. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the evaluation threshold requiring relevant experience on contracts exceeding $30 million suggests this will be a substantial procurement. The work will leverage contractor experience from previous NASA programs including Apollo and Space Shuttle missions while supporting advanced technology development for future space exploration initiatives.
