About this opportunity

The National Park Service is conducting a Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified contractors capable of providing diagnostics, repair, and corrective maintenance services for six Gillig diesel hybrid electric buses at Yosemite National Park in California. This is a market research announcement only and does not constitute a formal solicitation or request for quotation. Contractors must be either an authorized Gillig repair facility or Gillig factory-certified technician to be considered eligible. All diagnostic, disassembly, rebuilding, calibration, and testing work must be performed at an authorized Gillig repair facility, with mobile or field repairs prohibited unless pre-approved in writing by the Contracting Officer. Responses must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time on April 14, 2026, via email to lisa_henson@nps.gov with the subject line "Repairs to Gillig Buses-SOURCES SOUGHT," and should include company details, UEI number, GSA contract number if applicable, small business program eligibility status, setup timeline, and a capability statement of less than five pages demonstrating relevant experience from at least two similar projects completed within the preceding three years.

This procurement is not designated for any small business set-aside, though the NPS is actively seeking submissions from small businesses, Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises, certified 8(a), HUBZone, Women-Owned, and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business sources. No incumbent contractor or current vendor is identified in this notice. The work involves transporting, diagnosing, repairing, and testing two 2005 Gillig buses requiring wire harness replacement and four 2011 Gillig buses requiring engine replacement, DPIM module replacement, or similar repairs. Overhauled engines must include at least a 2-year/100,000-mile warranty covering parts and labor for defects in materials or workmanship. The anticipated contract award date is projected for June 1, 2025, with a 180-day completion period following award, and deliverables must include diagnostic reports, repair plans with parts lists, completion reports, final operational testing results with certification, and warranty documentation.
