About this opportunity

The USDA Agricultural Research Service is seeking genotyping services for the Germplasm Enhancement of Maize (GEM) project through solicitation 1232SA25Q0591. The contractor will perform comprehensive genotyping on 2,500 maize line samples using a 45,000 SNP marker panel, including kernel chipping of corn seeds, DNA extraction and quality control, library construction, sequencing with quality control, and bioinformatics analysis with a user-friendly interface. The marker panel must be evenly distributed across 10 corn chromosomes with approximately 60Kb step size and capable of capturing over 250,000 SNPs to assess genomic contributions of exotic maize and genetic diversity impacts. The government will use a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation methodology to award a single firm-fixed price purchase order. Quotes are due by 8:00 AM Central Time on August 22, 2025, and must be submitted electronically to shane.pope@usda.gov, with quotes remaining valid for at least 60 days after receipt.
