About this opportunity

Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD), under the Department of the Army, is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit vendor capabilities for procuring a geodesic radome system designed to support radar maintenance, calibration, operation, and testing. The radome must meet specific structural requirements including an equatorial diameter of 110 feet, a height of approximately 77 feet, and the ability to withstand wind speeds up to 150 mph in the Pocono Mountain region of eastern Pennsylvania while operating across a frequency range of 1 to 40 GHz. Potential respondents must submit detailed capabilities statements of no more than ten pages demonstrating their ability to supply the complete radome system, including specifications for insulation options, HVAC equipment with power requirements, ductwork designs, and installation and maintenance manuals. Evaluation will be based on vendor experience with similar geodesic radome systems, company background, relevant customer references, and the comprehensiveness of the technical response. The submission deadline is 12:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on April 30, 2026, and all responses must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word or PDF format to technical points of contact James Harris and Ricky Saunders.

This RFI is issued for informational purposes only with no obligation to award a contract, no funds available for response preparation, and no set-aside designations applied. No incumbent contractor or specific award value has been identified in this pre-solicitation notice. The radome structure must incorporate comprehensive safety and operational features including three porticos with equipment access doors, three personnel doors, lightning protection systems, interior and aircraft warning lighting, radiation hazard signage, and door exit signs. While this RFI does not commit the government to proceed with a formal solicitation, vendors responding with strong technical capabilities and relevant experience with large-scale geodesic radome systems for radar operations position themselves for potential consideration in any subsequent procurement action.
