About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District is conducting market research for the demolition and decommissioning of the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital (GLWACH) located on Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. This Pre-Solicitation Notice seeks qualified contractors capable of performing hazardous material abatement, building demolition, decommissioning services, and removal of improvements. The scope of work includes the complete removal of three structures: the hospital and clinic building (B310), the Central Utility Plant (B311), and a temporary helipad, while ensuring that the connected Optical Fabrication Lab (B311) remains operational with minimal to no degradation. The project will be procured as a Design-Build contract with a firm fixed price type arrangement. This Sources Sought notice is for market research and planning purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment by the Government to award a contract. The deadline for responses to this Pre-Solicitation Notice is March 20, 2026, providing interested parties with approximately two weeks to submit their qualifications and capabilities.
No set-aside designation applies to this procurement, and no incumbent contractor or prior award information has been identified in the notice. The project magnitude exceeds $10,000,000, positioning it as a significant demolition contract requiring substantial contractor resources and expertise. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 238910 (Site Preparation Contractors), which carries a small business size standard of $19 million; however, given the project's scope and estimated value, this opportunity is likely to attract larger, fully-capable demolition firms. The notice emphasizes that all information submitted by interested parties is strictly voluntary, no monetary compensation will be provided for proposal preparation or follow-up requests, and submission does not obligate the Government to proceed with a formal solicitation. Contractors interested in this opportunity should ensure they possess the appropriate certifications, insurance, and experience in hazardous material remediation and large-scale building demolition operations.
