About this opportunity

The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) has issued a Special Notice for the FY26 Comsouth Renewal procurement, which is a sole source contract opportunity posted on March 6, 2026. The contracting agency intends to award this contract exclusively to COMSOUTH INC, a vendor located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). This procurement falls under NAICS Code 334220 (Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing) and involves the acquisition of commercial items and services for NASA Stennis Space Center. The contract will be administered using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 procedures. The Special Notice serves as a formal announcement of the government's intent to proceed with sole source contracting.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to notify interested organizations that they may submit written capabilities and qualifications by the deadline of 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on March 10, 2026, to demonstrate whether they should be considered for a competitive procurement process. The Statement of Work specifies a one-year performance period from February 1, 2026 through February 1, 2027, requiring delivery of equipment and software including two Zetron Max Radio Console workstations, gateway hardware units, networking equipment, and radio units to NASA Stennis Space Center. The government has determined that COMSOUTH INC is currently the sole provider capable of fulfilling this requirement, but the agency retains discretionary authority to conduct a full and open competition based on responses received. Interested parties must submit responses in writing only, as oral communications are not acceptable, and they will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining competitive procurement feasibility.
