About this opportunity
This Award Notice from the Department of the Navy Naval Facilities Engineering Command awarded a contract valued at $3,337,684 to NEDERLANDSE ORGANISATIE VOOR TOEGEPAST-NATUURWETENSCHAPPELIJK ONDERZOEK TNO on March 24, 2023 to fund a project investigating if killer whales exhibit different behavioral responses to continuous active sonar signals versus traditional pulsed active sonar through dose escalation exposures to both signal types over an unspecified timeline. The objective of the project is to investigate behavioral responses of killer whales to continuous active sonar versus pulsed active sonar through dose escalation exposures to the two signal types.
Notice text
The objective of this 3S project (3S4) is to investigate if exposure to Contiuous Active Sonar (CAS) leads to different types or severity of behavioral responses than exposure to traditional Pulsed Active Sonar (PAS) signals in killer whales. This objective will be achieved by doing dose escalation CAS and PAS exposures.
Awarded contract N39430-23-C-2505 to NEDERLANDSE ORGANISATIE VOOR TOEGEPAST-NATUURWETENSCHAPPELIJK ONDERZOEK TNO for 3337684.00 on 2023-03-24.
