About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources for maintenance services on a Mitsubishi Gantry Crane located at Hangar 102, Yokota Air Base in Japan. The market research initiative seeks to gather information from contractors capable of providing comprehensive maintenance for a 5-ton capacity gantry crane over a 24-month period. Potential respondents will need to demonstrate technical expertise in maintaining a complex industrial crane with specific electrical and mechanical specifications, including an Electric Hoist System U2-5-HRH3A and precise operational capabilities. The RFI requires interested parties to submit cost estimates and provide evidence of their ability to meet the government's technical requirements. Responses are due by April 4, 2025, with contact points established as SrA Joe Lee and TSgt Ky A. Larkins for any inquiries.
The procurement opportunity is not designated with a specific set-aside status and falls under the NAICS category 532412 for Construction, Mining, and Forestry Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing. While no specific award value is currently disclosed, the solicitation suggests a comprehensive maintenance contract for a sophisticated industrial crane with precise technical specifications. The crane features a 95.1 ft width, 32.6 ft hook height, and operates on a 137.8 ft floor rail length, requiring specialized maintenance expertise. The government explicitly states that this RFI does not guarantee a contract award and will not reimburse respondents for preparation costs. Interested contractors should carefully review the attached technical specifications, including the detailed crane design and hoist specifications, to assess their capability to meet the Air Force's maintenance requirements.
