About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Nuclear Weapons Center is seeking to procure FUZE Production, specifically Impact Sensor assemblies (also known as FUZE Assemblies, NSN 1115-01-613-1595MW) through a sole source production contract. These G-force operated switches contain three separate sensors positioned strategically within air-launched cruise missiles to provide output signals to the Warhead Arming Device. The contract will be awarded as a definitive firm fixed price agreement, and the contractor must comply with all small business participation requirements and subcontracting plan obligations despite the contract not being set aside for small businesses. While a formal solicitation is not currently available, this pre-solicitation notice indicates the government's intent to proceed with acquisition pending fund availability. The due date for responses is March 11, 2026, though interested parties should note that the government reserves the right to cancel the solicitation at any time without obligation to reimburse offerors for costs incurred.
This procurement involves no set-aside designation and does not identify any incumbent contractors or specific award value in the pre-solicitation notice. The acquisition is structured as a single production lot for 141 FUZE units, with delivery expected to be completed within 18 months following contract award. The contract falls under NAICS code 336419 (Other Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC code 1115 (Nuclear Warheads and Warhead Sections). A critical limitation noted in this pre-solicitation is that funds are not presently available for this effort, meaning no award will be made until funding is secured, and the government explicitly reserves the right to cancel or decline to solicit this requirement regardless of the response deadline.
