About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, is seeking a contractor to construct a new Fuel System Maintenance Dock (FSMD) at Joint Base Langley Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. The project involves building a 26,749 square foot hangar facility designed to accommodate two F-22A aircraft for concurrent maintenance activities. The facility will include two maintenance work bays, administration spaces, storage areas, and utility spaces, with a focus on providing state-of-the-art design featuring natural day lighting and acoustic treatments. However, it is important to note that Amendment 0018, issued on January 28, 2025, has cancelled the current solicitation, with plans to resolicit the project in FY2026 contingent on reprogramming. The original solicitation was posted on June 27, 2024, with a response deadline of February 5, 2025, though these dates are now superseded by the cancellation amendment.
The solicitation is categorized under NAICS 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction and PSC Y1EB for Construction of Maintenance Buildings. There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity. While the original project was designed to be a comprehensive facility supporting F-22A maintenance operations, the current status is a pending resolicitation, which means potential contractors should monitor future announcements for the project's reissuance. The place of performance is specifically at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. The cancellation of the current solicitation suggests that the project timeline and potential award value are currently under review, with a potential rebidding process expected in the next fiscal year.
