About this opportunity

Naval Supply Systems Command is announcing a sole-source procurement of recurring annual maintenance services for twenty-two fuel nozzles supporting Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) vessels, with a response deadline of September 15, 2026. The Government intends to award this requirement exclusively to Sherwood Aviation (CAGE 3EM37), located in Opa-locka, Florida, as the only manufacturer authorized to perform repairs and maintenance on the proprietary Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) fuel manifolds.

The required services include cleaning, operational testing, and minor repairs as needed for fuel nozzle assemblies. The APU system consists of two small gas-turbine auxiliary engines that provide onboard electrical power and pneumatic bleed air for starting main propulsion engines on LCAC vessels. Work is performed during the 500-hour inspection cycle. The requiring activity is Assault Craft Unit Four (ACU-4), and the 31T work center engine shop will perform repairs, cleaning, flow testing, and additional work as required.

The estimated contract value is $16,700 with a performance period from September 15, 2026 to November 15, 2026. Sherwood Aviation's fuel manifolds are governed by patent, copyright, and proprietary data restrictions that preclude competition; no substitutes are available. This notice is published for informational purposes only and does not solicit proposals. The Justification and Approval (J&A) for Sole Source is attached as supporting documentation.
