About this opportunity

The Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) issued a Justification and Approval for a sole source contract to NexGen Integrated Systems, Inc. to develop a fuel cell watercraft prototype. The contract will have a base period of 7 months and three 12-month option periods, for a total period of performance of 48 months. The total estimated value for the initial base award is undisclosed, with additional funding provided for the option periods. The sole source justification is based on the finding that only NexGen Integrated Energy Systems has the unique capability to perform the integration and testing of the commercial-off-the-shelf components required for this fuel cell watercraft prototype. The Government expects to obtain a technical data package and develop a performance specification to support future competition for production.
