About this opportunity

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is seeking to extend the ordering period for an existing Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the Family of Tactical Helmet Systems (FTHS) by 10 months, from the current expiration date of October 11, 2025, until August 11, 2026. This extension is categorized under Individual Equipment procurement and falls within the All Other Miscellaneous Manufacturing NAICS classification. The extension is necessary to provide additional time for an ongoing Other Transaction Authority (OTA) prototype competition for FTHS Ground Ballistic Helmets that has been running for over six months. All responsible sources may submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to execute this requirement, with responses required by July 2, 2025. Interested parties must submit written responses via email to David Tenenbaum and Carlos Cotto at the specified USSOCOM addresses.

This procurement opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. The current IDIQ contract H9240319D0003 is held by Gentex Corporation, located at 324 Main Street, Simpson, PA. The notice emphasizes that this is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a formal Request for Quote or Request for Proposal, with the government maintaining no obligation to award a contract based on responses. USSOCOM intends to award a follow-on production contract under the ongoing OTA competition if a successful performer emerges from that competitive process. The 10-month extension timeline provides the necessary bridge period between the current contract's expiration and the potential new production contract award.
