About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District is seeking a design-build contractor to construct an 18,250 to 19,000 square foot Consolidated Housing Furniture Storage Facility at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The project requires comprehensive design and construction services for a warehouse capable of storing furniture for over 5,000 single soldier barracks rooms, with capabilities for multi-tiered pallet rack storage and specialized furniture handling. Key contract requirements include implementing sustainable design features, energy monitoring systems, utility connections, loading docks, vehicle parking, and accessibility accommodations for individuals with disabilities. The proposal evaluation will focus on three primary factors: Past Performance, Technical Approach, and Small Business Participation Plan, with a minimum small business participation goal of 15% of the total contract value. Proposals are due by January 2, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET, with a site visit scheduled for November 20, 2024, at 9:00 AM ET.
The solicitation is not set aside for any specific business category, making it open to a broad range of contractors. The project includes four bid options: movable and rack storage furnishings, roadway improvements, pavement material alternatives, and wall panel construction variations. While specific award value ranges are not explicitly stated, the project involves substantial construction and design work with infrastructure development. The facility will support utility connections through privatized systems, with JACOBS managing utilities and City Light & Power providing electrical service. The anticipated contract completion is targeted for October 28, 2024, with the facility designed to support 10,000 bed spaces and serve as a centralized furniture storage and distribution center for Fort Campbell's military housing infrastructure.
