About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a frequency generator (NSN 7H-1285-014707682) with a quantity of 6 units for repair and modification. The proposed contract action is unique in that the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, indicating potential sole-source procurement. Interested parties may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the notice's publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government will consider received proposals at its discretion, with the primary objective of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Potential bidders can obtain necessary specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) via online platforms like ASSIST-Online or by contacting their help desk.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement involves six units of a specialized frequency generator with technical delivery parameters (TDP VER 002). The acquisition is subject to potential Free Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions, as indicated by potential DFARS clauses 252.225-7036 and 252.225-7021. The delivery is specified as FOB Origin, and the government has explicitly stated that they are not using FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition. Interested parties have 15 days to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item, providing a narrow window for potential alternative sourcing proposals.
