About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Hood is seeking to lease refrigerated trucks to support the 1st Infantry Division's Danger Gauntlet IV military exercise at Fort Riley, Kansas. Amendment 1 has reduced the original requirement from eight trucks to two 20-foot or larger refrigerated/reefer trucks (diesel or unleaded) that must be 8 feet wide and 13 feet tall, with optional liftgates. The contract requires comprehensive services including delivery with full fuel tanks, equipment repairs and replacements, all necessary parts and repair calls, permits and tolls, per diem expenses, delivery and pickup services, and a familiarization training session for operators at Fort Riley. The procurement will be evaluated using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) method. The solicitation has a critical deadline of September 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM Central Time for proposal submissions.
This solicitation is set aside specifically for Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) enterprises, and no incumbent contractors are identified in the documentation. While specific award values are not disclosed, the contract covers the period from September 4-22, 2025, representing an 18-day lease period. The trucks will be used to support Class I food service operations across multiple locations during the military exercise, with an estimated daily mileage of 60 miles per truck. Performance will take place at Fort Riley, Kansas, with delivery to Victory Hall Building 580 on Reed Avenue. The trucks will be operated by Material Handling Equipment licensed soldiers after receiving the required familiarization training, and once delivered, they will be covered under the Army's self-insurance program with damage assessments for incidents beyond normal wear and tear.
