About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) is seeking repair services for Navy Weapon System P-8 aircraft components specifically a cylinder and valve assembly unit destined for South Korea. NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Philadelphia intends to solicit repair and modification services including labor, materials, and facilities necessary to restore the government-owned article to operational condition. The government currently intends to sole-source this contract to Standard Aero Inc. under FAR 6.302-1 authority, citing lack of necessary technical data to perform the repairs in-house or by other sources. However, all responsible sources are invited to submit capability statements and competitive proposals to demonstrate their interest and qualifications. The synopsis notice was posted on October 29, 2025, with responses due by November 12, 2025, and all proposals received within five days of the synopsis publication will be considered by the government.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and is classified under NAICS 333611 (Turbine and Turbine Generator Set Units Manufacturing) with PSC code 1620 (Aircraft Landing Gear Components). Standard Aero Inc. is identified as the anticipated sole source contractor; however, any competing contractor must obtain Source Approval and should submit the required NAVSUP-WSS Source Approval Information package along with their proposal. The contract involves repair of one unit of the specified component, with no specific contract value disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The government will not delay award pending source approval determinations for new contractors, as the approval timeline typically cannot accommodate extended contract award delays. Additional sourcing information and guidance on submitting Source Approval requests is available through the NAVSUP WSS business opportunities portal.
