About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command Detroit Arsenal (ACC Warren) is soliciting offers for the procurement of Heptafluoropropane (FM 200) fire suppression agent to support Red River Army Depot's fire extinguisher rebuild operations. The contractor must supply DuPont FM200 Heptafluoropropane in 1,200-pound cylinders meeting stringent specifications, including a minimum purity of 99% 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoropropane (CAS #431890) and adherence to ASTM International Standard D6064 Type II. Key specifications include cylinders with a 1,000-pound water capacity, 300 PSI service pressure, and dimensions of 30 inches diameter by 50 inches height. The solicitation was posted on February 18, 2026, with a proposal due date of March 23, 2026. While the notice does not explicitly detail evaluation criteria or provide separate question deadlines, the compressed gas supply nature and military application suggest that quality assurance, delivery capability, and compliance with chemical specifications will be primary evaluation factors.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation, making it available to all qualified contractors. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide specific contract value information. The exact quantity of 1,200-pound cylinders required is not specified in the solicitation notice, though the requirement is described as minimal purchases needed to complete rebuild quantities for fire extinguisher reclamation operations. The work will be performed at or in support of Red River Army Depot, located in Texas. Interested contractors should note that this opportunity falls under NAICS code 325120 (Industrial Gas Manufacturing) and PSC category 6830 (Gases: Compressed and Liquefied), indicating that suppliers with expertise in compressed gas handling and chemical specification compliance will be most competitive.
